Problem

Those who live in affordable housing are still often left choosing between other necessities, like medical care, clothing and food. Unfortunately, this means many children may go without investment in basic educational assistance in their early years, like books and educational toys designed to stimulate young minds. Childhood development specialists underscore the importance of reading for very young children, which can lay a foundation for success in kindergarten, grade school and beyond.

The Gift

Many of SAHF’s members offer these books and toys, as well as safe and fun community play spaces, at the properties they manage for children of families who live there. More resources are always needed. Your gift will add books and toys to a package that SAHF will then donate to a member project and the children they serve. Reading is truly a gift; let’s make it possible for every child!
