In Africa today, there are 24 million girls not enrolled in school. Education costs families money, and poverty often forces parents to decide which of their children to send to school. Because boys who have completed high school are more likely to gain paid employment, girls are the first to miss out. The global cost of excluding girls from school is seen in high rates of infant and maternal mortality, HIV infection and malnutrition.

Your donation will transform the future of a girl in Africa by sending her to school. $130 will cover the costs of one year of high school, a cost beyond her family's means. This gift includes shoes, school clothing, books, stationery, school and exam fees, sanitary protection, and the social support of a trained female mentor in her school.
