Problem
Youth from the global south are often the ones most impacted by the policies of the World Trade Organization - from limiting the amount that they can earn in wages to the drugs they can buy for HIV/AIDS treatments. Unfortunately, young people from the Global South are often excluded from, or unable to participate in WTO decision-making processes. Since their voices are not heard, youth in the global south are at a disadvantage.
The Gift
Your gift will help to cover some of the costs associated with sending a youth activist from the global south to participate and advocate at the World Trade Organization's next Ministerial Meeting. This youth activist will advocate for young people around the world and their lack of access to drugs, jobs, and the widening of the gap between north and south.
