Problem

Increasingly grandparents and other relatives are being called upon to raise children when parents are not able to do so. Currently 6.7 million children live in households headed by grandparents. The families are usually formed suddenly and with little opportunity to prepare. Support groups help the caregivers and children understand they aren't alone while offering important information and time out.
