Problem

Today, over 300,000 children have been forced to fight in armed conflicts around the world. Ten thousand children are thought to be soldiers in the Congo. Fund grantee, AJEDI-Ka, works in rural Congo with local communities to stop the recruitment of children and to help former child soldiers return home.

The Gift

Your gift will help keep children out of war by supporting one of AJEDI-Ka’s most effective strategies: showing a video to local communities to explain that recruiting children is illegal and show how armed conflict physically and emotionally injures children and how they can stop children from being used in war. Village protection committees in these rural communities have reported a 75% decrease in child soldier recruitment in villages where these events have occurred.
