Preservation Resource Center New Orleans

Ray and Aaron of the Discover America Project are cycling 5000 miles and raising $50,000 for Rebuilding Together New Orleans. Donations support their work to restore the home of Beatrice Foster and her family in New Orleans. 2 and 1/2 years after Katrina, the Foster's home remains woefully unfinished, with repairs still needed in the kitchen and bathrooms, along with finishing work for the drywall, siding and handicap ramp. With your support we can help make their home livable again.

To ensure the success of our fund-raising campaign across America we need your help to raise $5,000 towards the trip expenses by May 31. That's $1 a mile! On that date we will begin our journey from Salem, Massachusetts and cycle to New Orleans. Upon arriving, we will stay for 3 weeks to volunteer and then continue on our voyage to Redwoods National Park in California. Your donation here alleviates food, board, and camping expenses we will incur along the journey. Thanks for your support!

November 1-8, 25 co-workers and peers are volunteering in New Orleans to work on food system issues and the repair/construction of local homes. Our group is called In Good Company, and its mission is to bring businesses together to focus awareness on people and places in need through hands-on action. While our companies are generously sending us, we hope to boost the contribution, as employees. Anything helps: $50 = fence repair, $100 = cabinet installation, $500 = glaze windows. Thank you!
