Description:
Every fall The Hunger Project (THP), a strategic, cutting edge non-profit committed to ending chronic hunger on the planet, holds a gala event weekend to spotlight a critical issue in the fight to end hunger.
This year’s weekend – October 13th and 14th - will be THP’s 30th Anniversary Fall Event. More than 1,000 people from 30 countries will come together to attend the weekend of events at the New York Hilton to celebrate our groundbreaking results so far.
We are looking for enthusiastic, committed individuals who would like to be part of this extraordinary event. Volunteer opportunities will include greeting and directing people, registration, preparing materials, collecting pledges, and a variety of other jobs. With a Global Office staff of 22 people, The Hunger Project relies on top-notch volunteers to create successful weekend events year after year.
Volunteers will be needed from 11 am-midnight on Saturday and 8 am-5 pm on Sunday. Assignments will be based on the volunteer’s availability and skills with most shifts lasting 4 to 5 hours.
All volunteers are required to attend one orientation meeting (on September 20th, September 23rd, September 26th, September 29th or October 2nd ) held at THP’s Global Office, 5 Union Square West, New York – located between 14th and 15th Street across from Union Square.
