AmeriCorps opens the door for citizens to serve in a variety of ways. Through their service and the volunteers they mobilize, AmeriCorps members address critical needs in communities throughout America. They do this by connecting youth with volunteer opportunities, tutoring youth and adults, mentoring youth, educating on disaster relief, managing after school programs, or providing some family services. There are 16 full-time (1700 hours) and 13 half-time positions (900 hours) that will start September 1. Members will receive living allowances and education awards based their full-time or part-time status. Health insurance and childcare is available for qualified full-time members.
