Description:

Are you interested in teaching and working with youth? We need qualified volunteers to help us reach out to members of the community ages six to adult by giving Community Disaster Education (CDE) presentations on disaster hazards and how to prepare for emergencies. Duties may include:

-- Marketing and promoting CDE trainings
-- Mentoring teens in the “Train the Trainer” model by training them to give CDE presentations to younger students
-- Coordinating teaching assignments and assisting youth co-instructors with CDE presentations
-- Helping to develop age-appropriate CDE presentation materials and curriculum

This is an ideal position for anyone interested in a career in teaching or emergency preparation. Volunteers in this position should have good communication and public-speaking skills. Adult CDE Presenter for Youth volunteers will receive on-going training and support from Youth Programs staff.
