South Sudan has been ravaged by civil war. Millions of people have suffered. Subsistence farms and fishing operations have been destroyed, along with small enterprises, and a way of life. Many people depend on emergency food aid to survive. The area’s wetlands and the White Nile River and its tributaries are good sources of fish and related income, but families don’t have the most basic equipment they need.
The Gift
