Dream Power Animal Rescue Foundation

Overview

Dreampower Animal Rescue Foundation envisions a compassionate world, where people value, respect, and provide a secure and loving quality of life for companion animals.

Mission

Providing adoption services for companion animals, sponsor educational programs and furnish health services to those animals in our foster-care network.

History

Dreampower Animal Rescue Foundation was founded in 1990. Today, Dreampower is a non-profit organization providing homeless animals another chance at life. Our mission is to find permanent homes for animals in need, providing temporary care and shelter for animals in emergencies. Since our founding, we have aided dogs, cats, donkeys, potbelly pigs, horses, rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, rats, ferrets, birds, turtles, and geckos - and just as important, we have aided the people that care for them.

Program

A foundation of our operation generates from our volunteer foster home network. Each foster home provides a stress free, natural setting for animals to heal, socialize, and finally become ready for adoption. Each foster family conducts a one-on-one evaluation of the animal thus offering more opportunities for a better pairing with a particular adopter.

Impact

Dreampower Animal Rescue promotes a “Commitment for Life™” between the pet and pet family. We strive to ensure the “best-in-fit” practices through a proven quality assurance interviewing process with the future pet family or owner. Dedicated to our “Commitment for Life” practices, Dreampower maintains an indirect participate to the animals future welfare needs—now extending into the South Pacific in Hawaii. We further bolster our goals through animal welfare education on a local and a national level by educating local and regional communities throughout the Colorado Front Range.

Goals This Year

As our country plunges deeper into a national recession, Dreampower Animal Rescue Foundation has actively sought new ways to continue the success of saving lives. Families and even single family households are rapidly beginning to feel the financial pressures of our country’s economic changes. Many Colorado residential households are finding it more and more difficult to care for their beloved animals as these pet owners lose their jobs, find they have to take on a second job, or even a third. These households are becoming more dependent on animal rescue units throughout the Colorado area. With the organization of the Southern Colorado Animal Alliance, Dreampower Animal Rescue and many other rescue units have banded together to continue saving the lives of animals and ensuring the life expectance of many of these non-profits to save those lives. This 2008 fiscal year has brought upon a need to expand the Dreampower vision to survive the bumpy economic recession and focus our efforts towards increasing our funding streams.

Board

Dreampower is fortunate to be guiding by a group local Colorado Springs business-savvy professionals that are pet-minded. We seek their knowledge and guidance to succeed as a non-profit no-kill, animal rescue organization.
