I am passionate about a range of projects, and I'm thankful to Changing the Present for giving me the means to support them all. Supporting these projects is an excellent gift that means far more to me than a thoughtless present which I don't want or need. Thinking about how many people will benefit from these gifts is deeply satisfying, so thank you to everyone who has made a donation. When your next special occasion happens, please consider making your own wish-list and supporting the causes that matter most to you. It really is far more rewarding than any other kind of gift. My friend has shown me the cards she received from Changing the Present and they are beautiful so I look forward to getting some of my own, although of course these are only the icing on the cake compared with the donations themselves.

$25.00

Your $25 donation enables WaterAid to provide one person with clean safe water, sanitation and hygiene education in one of the 26 countries where we work. This gift is enough to pay for one person in one of the world's poorest countries to gain access to safe, clean water and sanitation for life.

Give Farmers A Voice - Travel to a meeting

Sustainable Food Laboratory

$300.00

Your donation will pay travel costs for farmers to join in the discussion of the future of our food system, side-by-side with representatives from large national and multi-national food companies (wholesalers, retailers), NGO's and government representatives.

Fund A Fellow - Stipend in Africa

Ashoka: Innovators for the Public

$50.00

Ashoka searches the world for leading social entrepreneurs and at the launch stage, provide these entrepreneurs—Ashoka Fellows—a living stipend for an average of three years, allowing them to focus full-time on building their institutions and spreading their ideas. Ashoka Fellows’ impact is far-reaching and highly leveraged. For example, five years post election, 94% of Fellows are still working towards their original vision and 93% of Fellows have had their work independently replicated. Ten years post election, 71% of Fellows have influenced national policy. Our Fellows work in the fields of human rights, health, environment, learning/youth development, civic participation, and economic development, tackling the most difficult circumstances and transforming lives. Your contribution will catalyze the next generation of pattern-changing innovation across sectors in Africa.

$1.00

This gift will provide a needy child in the Mathare slum in Nairobi, Kenya with a healthy lunch, five days a week for a month. Younger children will also receive a nutritious mid-morning snack. Food is a precious commodity for Kenya's poor and is especially important to young children who are especially vulnerable to malnutrition and disease. The St. Phillips School lunch program addresses this problem by providing healthy meals at mid-day for more than 100 needy kids. Many of the children have been orphaned by HIV/AIDS and live with aunts, uncles or grandparents, most of whom are hard pressed to feed their own children. Your gift ensures that a child will receive a healthy lunch each school day for a week.
