Favorite gifts:

Treat and Prevent - Lung cancer research

Your gift will support current research into new agents to treat lung cancer and prevent its recurrence. Memorial Sloan-Kettering researchers are evaluating new drugs for lung cancer, including getifinib (Iressa). Identify Depression - 100 screenings

Mental Health America

$85.00

NMHA works with more than 70 national organizations—both in and outside the health care field—for whom depression and its treatment represent an important concern for their memberships. NMHA forms partnerships with community groups to educate diverse populations about depression, promote screenings, and generate local media coverage. NMHA also hosts an online depression screening tool – www.depression-screening.org. Since 1992, this effort has helped hundreds of thousands across the country recognize depression, get needed treatment, and resume productive, fulfilling lives. We have reached out to parents and caregivers with a Back-to-School program that supplies practical information about child and adolescent social/emotional development; we provide Back-to-Campus kits to help train resident assistants in recognizing mental health problems in freshman students; and we provide and distribute information on such subjects as reaching out to military personnel, and training volunteers for dealing with victims of crime or national disasters, such as hurricanes.

$50.00

Mighty lions … graceful sea turtles … magnificent jaguars … poison-dart frogs … red-cockaded woodpeckers … gopher tortoises … a dizzying array of plants and wildlife … when you Adopt an Acre, you are helping to protect the lands and waters these wondrous creatures need to survive – including us!

$100.00

WLT-US buys real acres in real places and protects them forever. By targeting the highest priority areas and taking these areas off the market for destruction, we can save countless species and critical habitats that are often protected nowhere else. We are highly efficient and able to purchase and protect private lands with rainforest for $100 an acre or less. We focus actions on key areas under imminent threat that often represent the last surviving habitat for threatened species. We then move swiftly to protect these biodiversity treasures before they are lost. World Land Trust-US has protected over 600,000 acres of rainforests and other threatened habitats to protect the most endangered species forever.
