Hello, and thank you for visiting my wishlist!

I am incredibly thankful for all the gifts I have been given over the years, so much so that I have everything I could possibly need. If you would like to express your love to me, please consider making a meaningful donation to one of my favorite non-profits below, or even one of your own choosing!

There is so much good in this world to be done, and this is the first step. I hope you'll consider making your own wish list too and encouraging your peers to donate to causes you care about in lieu of traditional presents. There are plenty of organizations that need the money immensely more than I do.

Let's work together to create a more equitable future for all through the act of generosity and giving.

Thank you!

This gift will allow a dancer to teach one children's workshop in a domestic violence shelter. Through consistent and concentrated yearlong programming in these shelters, with 6-10 children in each workshop, we will reach over 2,000 children. MyMoves! offers a high-quality program of workshops to help children develop self-confidence and life skills such as creative problem solving, concentration, collaboration and communication. We have learned through our work with children, as well as through training received from Sanctuary for Families and Safe Horizon, that one of the most important goals of working with traumatized children is helping them to develop a "sense of agency" – the belief that they have control of their environment. This can be accomplished by presenting structures and opportunities in which they can make choices and actively participate. The ability to make choices strengthens the sense of empowerment, and helps traumatized children move beyond the feeling of powerlessness prevalent in abusive families.

Educate A Child - Health & Nutrition

Friends of the World Food Program, Inc.

$25.00

Your gift of $25 will provide health and nutrition education to a poor child for an entire year, and help break the vicious cycle of hunger and poverty. The World Food Program (WFP) teaches children the basics of a healthy lifestyle, such as proper nutrition, safe hygiene, and HIV/AIDS prevention. The program focuses on the development of knowledge, values and life skills that will empower children to make the best health-related decisions for the rest of their lives. This self-sufficient solution to hunger will not only improve their quality of life, but the lives of future generations as well. To learn more about what WFP and WFP USA are doing to end world hunger, please visit www.wfpusa.org.
