Problem
Students with Type 1 diabetes and some with Type 2 diabetes, require insulin to survive—their insulin dependence does not stop at the schoolroom door. Without access to regular glucose testing and insulin administration during the school day children with diabetes are at risk of serious health complications. Despite this risk, many schools will not provide the services needed to keep kids safe.
The Gift
The federal government is committed to the idea that no child will be left behind in public schools. Our advocacy on behalf of children with diabetes will ensure that no child is locked out because schools will not provide assurances that children with diabetes will be safe in school. Your donation will help us advocate for the critical services required to keep a child with diabetes healthy and safe at school. Your contribution will bring peace of mind to parents—an immeasurable gift.
