Training for Dancers
by providing materials

Problem
Most domestic violence shelters, wherever they are located, are in need of programs that provide physical and creative activities to help survivors in the recovery process. The courageous women and children in shelters deserve all the tools they can get to better their lives and we are fortunate to assist them and learn from them in return. In order to do so, we must be educated about domestic violence.
The Gift
This gift will provide the materials such as books, articles and training sessions with shelter specialists that are necessary for a dancer to become educated about how to deal with domestic violence survivors. If trained and sensitized to the issue of domestic violence, professional dancers can bring movement, creativity and self-care to survivors as part of their journey to more healthy futures.
