Hygiene for kids
Global Fund for Children
Problem
Did you know that children in developing countries are 12 times more likely to die during the first five years of life than their counterparts in developed countries? Most of these deaths are easily preventable and are due to five common maladies: pneumonia, diarrhea, malaria, malnutrition, and measles. In many countries, simply educating a community about hygiene and health issues can make a crucial difference in the health of its children.
The Gift
The Global Fund for Children supports grassroots education programs that are calling for additional resources to address not only the educational needs of their young charges but their health needs as well. Your gift can provide toothbrushes, soap, and potable water to organizations serving children, or fund classes that teach hygiene. The Global Fund for Children knows that a healthy child is one with an improved quality of life due to enhanced physical health, adequate emotional and economic support, access to educational resources, and environmentally sound surroundings.
