You don’t need to be told about the problem of climate change and global warming, but ways to have a practical impact are harder to find. SAHF’s Members want to contribute by installing solar arrays and wind turbines on the roofs of their apartment buildings, and in some cases they already have. But often the technology’s cost, the cost of management, and questions about actual outcomes mean springing for the new solar array is, unfortunately, irresponsible.

The Gift

Private underwriting of a small percentage of the cost can flip the financial calculus. Here’s how it works: Your donation pays for one solar cell, which makes up part of an array. With the purchase of enough cells, SAHF will leverage your donations, and the prepayment of a modest percentage of the cost will allow a SAHF member property to support the rest of the cost through savings in utility bills. You can make our investment in an entire new solar cell array financially feasible, saving energy and reducing fossil fuel consumption.
