Problem
International relief agencies provide food and supplies to people in remote, often war-torn areas. Gathering this aid is only the first step. Often, dilapidated, landmined roads stand in between life-saving relief and the people who need it most. Emergency aid groups have the expertise to gather and dispense food and supplies, but rely on others to provide information on the safest, most efficient route to the communities in need.
The Gift
Veterans for America’s Information Management and Mine Action Programs (iMMAP) has been providing vital mapping information of remote, undocumented areas to aid agencies for over eight years. We are leading the on-the-ground effort to create and distribute practical, usable information that allows food and supplies to get to the people who need them the most. Your gift will make this mapping information available to aid agencies through an internet portal for one day. In Lebanon, Afghanistan, Vietnam and Iraq, local organizations and international agencies are relying on our maps and geographic expertise. Please help make this information available to the communities that need it most!
