Problem

Children readily understand the value of the life around them. Intense devastation of Africa's great apes is a relatively recent phenomenon; just two generations separate thousands of years of living in harmony from today's slaughter. Africa's children are a powerful key to bridging that gap, to conservation of its chimpanzees, gorillas and other endangered primates. Engaging them and empowering them to speak up on behalf of fellow native species has been proven to save primate lives many times.

The Gift

The Story of a Baby Chimpanzee tells the captivating story of a child's role in the successful rescue and rehabilitation of an infant chimpanzee. Your gift will help distribute coloring books to children across Africa, through the conservation education programs of PASA member sanctuaries. This richly-illustrated, 30-page coloring book, published in English, French, Portuguese, Dutch, German and Spanish, was written by PASA educators in Uganda, Cameroon, Sierra Leone and the United States, and includes fact sheets on all three African great apes: chimpanzees, gorillas and bonobos.
