Give An Award
Rights defender fund
Asian Human Rights Commission
Across Asia courageous people are struggling against the abuses that are affecting the lives of millions. A few are known and acknowledged, most are not. These people need solidarity and special recognition. Through them, other victims and their families can gain strength and society can learn about the problems against which they are fighting. By obtaining recognition and moral support, their struggles are made stronger and they can obtain support and protection against retribution.
Your contribution will be part of the sum given to an Asian Human Rights Defender Award laureate. The person may be alive or dead. If they are dead, the money will go to someone who is continuing the struggle for human rights in their name. If you wish, your own name, or the name of another person or an organisation on your behalf, will be acknowledged when the award is given. This is a truly great gift: a surprise present like no other, and one that will make a difference to the recipient not only for a day, a month or a year, but for a lifetime, and through him or her, to thousands of others.
