College Summit
Problem
Everyone knows that low-income students go to college at a lower rate than high-income students. But why? Academic preparation isn’t the whole story. Today in America, “A" students from low-income backgrounds enroll in college at the same rate as the most affluent “D" students. The college access systems for low-income youth are broken.
The Gift
Send trained College Summit staff to work in a school for one day with Counselors and teachers to build the college-going culture, share practices from other schools, review results, and strategize. With the help of innovative partners, College Summit shares valuable tools with all partner high schools including a scorecard that helps measure incremental and long term metrics of success. Building strong partnerships means that together, we can get more students to college.
