Give Clean Water
Well for 500 villagers
Cooperative Housing Foundation
Problem
Communities worldwide depend on water for survival, yet more than 1 billion people lack proper access to clean drinking water. Impacting health, food, climate, transportation and local markets, inadequate water resources and their management can lead to disease, malnutrition, poor economic growth and conflict. Ethiopia’s central areas, for instance, are drought-prone, and inefficient use of fuel has depleted the scarce resources, creating a chronic water crisis for more than 14 million Ethiopians.
The Gift
Your gift of $200 will help build a well that can provide sustainable access to clean water for rural farmers to use for personal consumption, for their animals' consumption, and for their farming activities. In addition, improved water usage mitigates the environmental crises that cause chronic drought and access to clean drinking water empowers the women and children who are otherwise forced to carry water from distant sources to pursue education and income-generating activities. Give the gift of a well, a gift that will bring relief to hundreds of villagers for years to come.
