Problem

Two thirds of the world’s uneducated children are girls, and two thirds of the world’s illiterate adults are women. Numerous studies have demonstrated that educating women and girls is the single most effective strategy to ensure the wellbeing and health of children, and the longterm success of developing economies. We invest in programs that ensure access to education for women and girls at all stages of their lives.

The Gift

A gift of $5 will allow a group like the Union for the Emancipation of Indigenous Women to provide school supplies and school fees for 10 indigenous girls, daughters of the displaced survivors of the Rwandan Genocide, in the South-Kivu Province of the Democratic Republic of Congo.
