Persian Day of Service
While Persian-Americans have made significant contributions to the economic and social fabric of American life for well over a quarter century, very few Americans are aware of the scope and breadth of these contributions. The Persian-American National Day of Service is an opportunity to bring Persian-Americans together to serve their local communities and demonstrate the Persian-American commitment to give back to America.
Your gift will fund transportation and supply costs for a local community’s implementation of the National Day of Service. For the Persian-American National Day of Service, PARSA will partner with dedicated local organizations and provide coordination and national publicity to facilitate the successful implementation of a local campaign. This first annual National Day of Service is intended to be a catalyst to inspire greater long-term participation. It will include neighborhood cleanup and enhancement projects such as cleaning up a local park, Red Cross and health projects such as organizing a blood drive, and help for the hungry and homeless such as cooking and serving meals at a food bank. The outcome of such an effort can serve the community by bringing unity and cohesiveness to the Persian-American community, helping our community integrate more fully into the larger local and national American community and encouraging a spirit of volunteerism for causes that have meaningful and lasting impact.
