Green building video
Rocky Mountain Institute
With rising energy costs and significant media attention, now more than ever, owners and developers are primed to act on project proposals that highlight energy-efficient building design. The most commonly cited barrier to energy-efficient building design is cost. Concerns that energy-efficient design results in higher capital cost and that the added value of energy-efficient buildings is not marketable both represent typical cost barriers.
Your gift will fund two hours of research for a movie about green building. As there are a growing number of successful green building projects with sufficient occupancy experience to provide real facts and figures on operating cost savings, occupancy health and productivity, and overall building value, now is the time to succinctly and powerfully communicate the business case for green building. RMI/ENSAR Built Environment team will conduct research, develop case studies, document results, and produce a 15- to 20-minute video that describes issues, principles, and benefits of green development with an emphasis on economics. We will also develop and implement a market development plan in order to accelerate the adaptation of high-performance buildings. The primary audiences for this video include building owners, managers, developers, and designers.
