Monitor Rights
Landmine compliance
Mines Action Canada
Problem
For the first time, civil society organizations around the world have come together in a systematic, coordinated way to monitor international humanitarian law under the Mine Ban Treaty. Researchers document problems and progress of the landmine situation worldwide. We believe this unique, civil society-based monitoring mechanism will ensure the issue remains in the spotlight and will aid in all Treaty obligations being realized - eliminating the suffering caused by landmines in our lifetime.
The Gift
This gift will provide one hour of a researcher's time monitoring compliance with the Mine Ban Treaty. Information gathered will appear in the next issue of the Landmine Monitor Report. Our 71 humanitarian researchers are located in 62 countries around the world.
