About Me

Hi! My name is Lily, and I am an undergraduate at the University of Chicago. In high school, I created the Leave a Mark Foundation with my elementary school friend to raise money for my old orphanage in China. The process of creating this organization sparked my interest in non-profits, and I have since continued my philanthropic work in college.

 

My Academics

I am majoring in Global Studies and minoring in Human Rights at the University of Chicago.

 

My Extracurricular Activities

Beauty ' Fashion ' Healthy Cooking/Lifestyle ' Interior Design ' Reading ' Writing ' Film ' Fitness and Exercise In high school, I was an editor on Yearbook, played club and school volleyball for 6 years, and was an Emergency Responder for our American Red Cross team. In college, I write for my school's culinary magazine, and I am part of Alpha Omicron Pi sorority as well as Alpha Phi Omega community service fraternity.

 

My Sports Activities

I played competitive volleyball at the school and club level for 6 years, qualifying for the Junior Olympics. I played intramural volleyball and broomball in college this past year.

My Lifestyle

I use reusable water bottles, limit my meat consumption and avoid red meat completely, carry reusable bags, walk when I can, use reusable sandwich bags, avoid food waste as much as possible, and recycle.

 

My Volunteering and Community Service

Created the Leave a Mark Foundation to raise funds for an orphanage in China - worked for Project Consent - volunteered at a homeless food kitchen - joined Alpha Phi Omega (community service fraternity) These experiences have exposed me to all the work that needs to be done to improve the world, and it has emphasized the privilege that I possess. I have realized that it is my duty to do the best that I can to reduce pain and suffering, help the planet, and increase the quality of life of others.

I love the idea of people donating instead of buying unwanted presents. It is a much more meaningful way to show your love.
