Heifer Project International Inc
Goats are tough to be certain, yet they are amazingly gentle. So friendly, in fact, that it is the children who often care for a family's goat--building bonds and learning lifesaving skills. Heifer goats can give a family up to a gallon of milk every day. Many families use what's left over to make yogurts, cheeses or sell at the market for income to pay for clothes, school and medicine. And with two to three kids each year, passing-on the gift of goats in easy. It's a gift that keeps on giving and giving.
One 40 lb bag of rice, beans, flour, tortillas, canned goods, etc. This bag of food is enough to meet the basic needs of the families. These needy and poor children in Brazil and the United States desperately need food. By providing this bag of basics, the families can spend what little money they have on other needs. The food items are different in the United States than in Brazil. Because there are different cultures and different needs the bags will include different items. It really does make a difference for the families.
Friends of the World Food Program, Inc.
Your gift will provide take-home food rations to girls in school for six months to help ease the economic burden on parents. This will help convince parents to keep their daughters in school and free them from their household chores. This gives girls, who otherwise may stay at home, the chance to learn. By promoting education for girls, the World Food Program (WFP) will improve a woman’s chances of finding well-paid work, raising a healthy family and even preventing the spread of diseases like HIV/AIDS. WFP is also helping these girls to achieve economic independence and have a voice within their communities. Education empowers girls and gives them the knowledge and tools they need to improve their lives. It will continue to have positive and long-lasting effects not only for them, but also for their families and their communities. LifeNet4Families Cooperative Feeding Program
Your gift will enable us to provide free toothbrushes to the homeless. Every day we have a line of people waiting for our free shower program, and part of that program is providing hygiene supplies like toothbrushes. Poor oral health can lead to some serious medical problems including infections and heart disease. By simply being able to brush their teeth, our clients can help avoid some of these serious issues and greet the day with a bright smile
Your $25 donation enables WaterAid to provide one person with clean safe water, sanitation and hygiene education in one of the 26 countries where we work. This gift is enough to pay for one person in one of the world's poorest countries to gain access to safe, clean water and sanitation for life.
