I was one of the Founding Fathers of the United States. As you know, I was a renowned polymath and a leading author, printer, political theorist, politician, postmaster, scientist, inventor, civic activist, statesman, and diplomat.As an inventor, I am known for the lightning rod, bifocals, and the Franklin stove, among other inventions.

Most dear to my heart are the many civic organizations I founded. Among them were Philadelphia's fire department and the University of Pennsylvania. I am therefore delighted that Changing The Present allows support of any nonprofit, including any college or university (hurrah for University of Pennsylvania), and also allows for donations to support any volunteer fire department.
