Brazilian Network to Combat the Wild Animal Trafficking
Problem
Wild animal trafficking is the third greatest illegal activity in the world, behind weapons and drugs. The trade of wild fauna causes the poaching of 38 million animals every year. Society is unaware of the cruelty of this traffic and its environmental, sanitary, legal and economic consequences: loss of biodiversity, loss of ecological equilibrium, spread of diseases, and social degradation. Fighting this illegal trade requires education, involvement and collaboration of different sectors of society.
