Everyone knows that low-income students go to college at a lower rate than high-income students. But why? Academic preparation isn’t the whole story. Today in America, “A" students from low-income backgrounds enroll in college at the same rate as the most affluent “D" students. The college access systems for low-income youth are broken.
The Gift
Your gift will give a students one year of access to an online system as they apply to college. With secure accounts, students can upload their applications, personal statements, resumes, and other necessary documents for their college applications. On top of that, their teachers can track the student’s progress and upload their letters of recommendation. This tool also provides links to resources on financial aid, and other college access information.
