We are the women of Alpha Alpha Alpha Sorority at Sample University.

We, the women of Alpha Alpha Alpha are here to support women--our sisters and all women--in every way. So, of course, we were delighted to create this wish list to show the ways we are helping women through our philanthropy.

Want to show your love? Don't buy yet another picture frame or sweater. Instead, you can do something meaningful to help other women, and you can do it in your friend's name. They will even get a nice greeting card to make it a truly memorable gift.

See some of our favorite charitable gifts below. Then, please join the site, create your own charitable wish list to support women or whatever causes you care about, then share this with everyone.

Educate Young Girls - Food for education

Friends of the World Food Program, Inc.

$60.00

Your gift will provide take-home food rations to girls in school for six months to help ease the economic burden on parents. This will help convince parents to keep their daughters in school and free them from their household chores. This gives girls, who otherwise may stay at home, the chance to learn. By promoting education for girls, the World Food Program (WFP) will improve a woman’s chances of finding well-paid work, raising a healthy family and even preventing the spread of diseases like HIV/AIDS. WFP is also helping these girls to achieve economic independence and have a voice within their communities. Education empowers girls and gives them the knowledge and tools they need to improve their lives. It will continue to have positive and long-lasting effects not only for them, but also for their families and their communities. Help Ms. Investigate - One Ms. investigation

Feminist Majority Foundation

$75.00

Ms. is in a position to fill this gap of solid investigative reporting. With limited resources, Ms. has been successful in breaking investigative news. For example, in Spring 2006, Ms. sent an investigative team to the U.S. territory of the Northern Mariana Islands to expose the sweatshop conditions for women workers and put a woman’s face on Jack Abramoff’s scandalous lobbying. Ms. sparked renewed action and coverage on the exploitation of these women. New legislation was introduced to reform labor and immigration laws in the Marianas, and women’s groups organized actions as a result of this investigative work. Both nationally and globally, Ms. is determined to be on the frontlines investigating breaking stories or stories that have not yet come to the attention of the public. Your gift of $75, together with the gifts of 99 other contributors, covers the cost of one groundbreaking Ms. Investigative Report.

Help Sick Women - One month of treatment

Feminist Majority Foundation

$105.00

The Feminist Majority Foundation runs the only Mifepristone Compassionate Use Program in the country. Our program serves as the only hope for many critically ill patients, mostly women, who have exhausted all standard therapies, including chemotherapy, surgery and radiation. Mifepristone is a life line for these women, and some men, some of whom have depended on this drug for over a decade. Since the program’s inception in 1998, we have provided mifepristone to more than 140 patients. FMF distributes the drug at cost to physicians whose patients are able to pay for the drug, at a reduced rate to those who can pay in part, and free to patients unable to afford this medication considered experimental and not usually covered by insurance. Your $105 contribution will help us provide the drug for 1 month to a critically ill patient.
